The AI and Emerging Technology Policy Fellow will be responsible for conducting research and analysis on policy issues related to artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. This role involves collaborating with our team to develop evidence-based recommendations that address governance challenges and opportunities in these rapidly evolving fields.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct in-depth research on AI and emerging technology policies across Africa.

Analyze complex policy documents related to AI governance and provide concise summaries and actionable insights.

Develop evidence-based recommendations for stakeholders, including policymakers, tech innovators, and regulatory bodies.

Collaborate on projects exploring the intersection of AI with other fields such as health, agriculture, energy, or infrastructure.

Contribute to the expansion of Policy Vault’s repository by identifying, acquiring, and analyzing relevant documents related to AI governance.

Prepare high-quality reports, briefs, and presentations for internal and external audiences.

Build strong relationships with stakeholders in government, academia, civil society organizations, and the private sector.

Monitor trends in AI governance and emerging technologies across Africa and provide timely updates on key issues.
Qualifications and Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in technology-related fields (e.g., Computer Science), public policy, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex AI policy documents.

Excellent written communication skills with a proven ability to produce clear, concise, and impactful content.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills with experience working collaboratively across diverse groups.

Familiarity with African policy landscapes related to AI governance or emerging technologies.

Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively.
Eligibility
This fellowship is ideal for:

Graduates with no more than three years of experience.

Current students pursuing advanced degree programs (e.g., master’s or doctoral studies).

Researchers on sabbatical looking to apply their expertise in AI governance or emerging technologies.
Fellowship Details

Duration: Six months

Compensation: A monthly stipend of NGN 350,000
