The amendment notice is applicable to all special nature reserves, national parks, and world heritage sites, excluding the Vredefort World Heritage Site. It specifies other alterations by way of deletions, substitutions, and insertions.

The act acknowledges the constitutional right to have the environment protected for the benefit of present and future generations; the role played by natural forests and woodlands, and the need for sustainable management. The purposes of the act include: create the conditions necessary to restructure forestry in state forests; promote community forestry; and to promote the sustainable use of forests for environmental, economic, educational, recreational, cultural, health and spiritual purposes.

Food-grade salt is defined as “a crystalline product consisting of 97% sodium chloride, which is used as an ingredient or flavourant in or on a foodstuff, and which may be obtained from the sea, underground rock salt deposits or natural brine, and which can also be referred to as table salt, cooking salt, flavoured salt or dendritic salt”. It is stated herein that food-grade salt shall not contain less than 97% sodium chloride on a dry matter basis, with the exclusion of food additives. The regulations also set out the iodation requirements of food-grade salt, and the additives allowed to be contained.

The purpose of this notice is to identify activities that would require environmental authorisations prior to commencement of that activity and to identify competent authorities in terms of sections 24(2) and 24D of the national environmental management act of 1998. It repeals listing notice 1 of 2010.”

The strategic plan consists of three core strategies: equitable access and participation, global competitiveness and profitability and sustainable resource management. It aims to enhance equitable access to and participation in agricultural opportunities, enhance profitability through sustained global competitiveness in the agricultural sector’s input supply, primary production, Agri processing and agritourism industries, and also enhance farmers’ capacities to use resources sustainably.

The notice amends the definitions of the control measures of the Agricultural Pests Act. It substitutes headings related to prohibitions of certain plants, and table detailing plants with movement restrictions.

The regulations are subject to the agricultural product standards of 1990. They specify classes and standards, parking and marking requirements guiding the sale of sunflower seeds in South Africa. It specifically states that sunflower seeds shall not be sold except standards outlined in these regulations are met. The regulations are baseline standards for sunflower seeds sold in South Africa. The executive officer is allowed to grant partial or whole exemption to persons that meet stipulated requirements in the agricultural product standards act of 1990

An amendment to the Environment Conservation Act of 1993. It gives the minister the power to determine policy directions to implement conventions or agreements and outline norms and standards. It also provides for regulating the delegation of powers and assignment of duties.

Application for registration of animal feeds shall be made by residents of South Africa or persons with registered offices in the country. The regulations contain other requirements to be met by applicants, appeals procedure, as well as general and specific requirements for animal feeds.

Subject to the farm feeds, agricultural remedies, and stock remedies act of 1947, the minister repeals the notice relating to the prohibition on retail of products containing hyaluronic acid and its salts as farm feed.

The statutory measure aims to compel producers and exporters of the fruits, as well as people who act on their behalf, to keep records and report returns to the Citrus Growers Association (CGA) of South Africa. The CGA serves as the administrator of the measure. The measure hopes to ensure players and stakeholders have access to information necessary to take effective decisions. The measure applies to all export citrus fruits.

The purpose of these Regulations is to prescribe the procedure and requirements for
water use licence applications and appeals as contemplated in the sections of the national water act of 1998. A water use licence application, after submission to the responsible authority, shall be considered and finalized within 144 days from the date of acceptance of the technical report on water use licence.

The regulations prohibit the sale, acquisition, disposal or use of Monocrotophos containing remedies. The regulations also prescribe penalties for non-compliance with this rule.

The amended regulations in the schedules are with respect to: redefinition of “management plan”, deletion of words for textual correctness, trade in specimens of protected species, and management for persons who own or control elephants.

The application of the norms and standards apply uniformly nationally and in all provinces, and to all stakeholders wishing to develop a BMP-S. The norms and standards provide a national approach and minimum standards for the development of biodiversity management plans for species.

These Regulations bans the sale of avocados produced in, or imported into South Africa and placed on the domestic market, that do not meet quality standards as prescribed by these Regulations. It also spells out imported fresh fruits that may be exempted from the provisions of the regulations. The regulations specify classes and standards, parking and marking requirements guiding the sale of avocados in South Africa.

The control measures aim to prevent the spreading of classical swine fever (European Swine Fever or Hog Cholera) from the entire Eastern Cape Province. It prohibits the export of pigs, wild pigs, bushpigs and warthogs, as well as any of their products and genetic materials from the Eastern Cape Province, except on authority of a permit.

The statutory measure applies to cotton. It pushes to compel stakeholders of cotton to register with cotton South Africa. It sees registration as a means to ensure availability of information to all players in the industry, to enable them make informed decisions. The measure lists out the parties mandated to register, and the registration process. Cotton South Africa is appointed as an administrator of the statutory measure.

The control measures aim to prevent the spreading of avian influenza disease from the entire Western Cape Province. It prohibits the export of ostriches, ostrich products, and ostrich genetic materials from the Western Cape Province, except on authority of a permit.
