An Act to establish the Occupational Health and Safety Institute and provide for its functions; provide for the establishment of health and safety committees at workplaces and for the health, safety and welfare of persons at work; and provide for the duties of manufacturers, importers and suppliers of articles, devices, items and substances for use at work.

An Act to continue the existence of the Pharmaceutical Regulatory Authority and re-name it as the Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority. It provides for the functions and powers of the Authority; the registration and regulation of pharmacies, health shops and agro-veterinary shops; and the registration and regulation of medicines and allied substances. It also provides for the regulation of the manufacture, importation, exportation, possession, storage, distribution, supply, promotion, advertising, sale and use of medicines and allied substances.

An Act to establish the National Health Research Authority and provide for its functions and powers; the National Health Research Ethics Board and provide for its functions and powers and provide a regulatory framework for the development, regulation, financing and coordination of health research and ensure the development of consistent health research standards and guidelines for ethically sound health research.

An Act to repeal the Medical Levy Act, 2003.

An Act to provide for sound financing for the national health system; provide for universal access to quality insured health care services; establish the National Health Insurance Management Authority and provide for its functions and powers; establish the National Health Insurance Scheme and provide for its systems, procedures and operation; establish the National Health Insurance Fund and provide for contributions to and payments from the Fund; provide for accreditation criteria and conditions in respect of insured health care services; provide for complaints and appeals processes; provide for the progressive establishment of provincial and district health offices of the Authority; and provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.

The HIV & AIDS & STI Strategic Plan provides a broad framework for government, Non-Governmental Organizations, businesses, organized labour, women’s organizations and all sectors of society in responding to HIV and AIDS and STIs.

Oral disease levels appear to be increasing in major sectors of the South African population, especially the underserved, disadvantaged and urbanizing communities. Therefore, this strategy aims to improve the oral health of the South African population by promoting oral health and preventing, appropriately treating, monitoring and evaluating oral diseases.

The purpose of the Antimicrobial Resistance National Strategy framework is to provide a structure for managing antimicrobial resistance, to limit further increases in resistant microbial infections, and improve patient outcomes. The framework consists of four strategic objectives that are underpinned by four key enablers outlined in this document.

The National Health Promotion Policy and Strategy clarifies the role of health promotion in the health sector and other sectors. The policy is guided by four principles. It aims to strengthen systems to monitor and evaluate health promotion interventions and create an enabling environment that promotes healthy behavioural practices.
