The statutory measure aims to compel producers and exporters of the fruits, as well as people who act on their behalf, to register with Agri-hub. Agri-hub serves as the administrator of the measure. The measure hopes to create a level playing field for players and stakeholders and improve efficiency in the relevant industry, by way of access to information. Persons shall have options to register as producers, exporters, importers, retailers, processors, and municipal markets.

The amendment of regulations in the notice relates to redefinitions, insertions, and substitutions, for textual correctness.

This National Communication Strategy is based on the strategic communication framework adopted by the Cabinet and finalised in the light of the President’s state of the nation address. It identifies priorities for government communication for 2008, including cluster communication priorities, and inform the development of detailed communication programmes by clusters, departments and provinces.

The statutory measure aims to compel the parties set out in the schedules to register with the Macadamias South Africa NPC (SAMAC), which is tasked with implementing the measure. The measure hopes to improve the efficiency of the production and marketing of macadamias by ensuring access to accurate and timely information to guide their decision process. The measure applies to macadamias nuts in-shell, kernels, and macadamia trees both in the field and in the nursery.

The Act provides for the declaration and management of provincial parks within the framework of the national environmental management act; it gives effect to international agreements on protected areas, and provides for the management of provincial parks, under the provisions of the Eastern Cape Environmental Conservation Act

The scheme pushes to maintain the production potential of land by constructing soil conservation works. It also aims to combat or prevent excessive soil loss via erosion, and to regulate the payment of subsidies from parliament appropriated funds. Subsidies are to be paid on construction of soil conservation works classified as protection works, drainage works, veld utilisation works, and drought relief works.

The amendment deletes the definition “cultivar list”, and repeals paragraph (a) of sub-regulation 4(2) and replaces it with: “the wheat in the consignment consists of at least 95 per cent (m/m) of one or more of the durum wheat seeds.”

The regulations are the minimum standard guiding the sale of maize products in South Africa. The 18 grades of maize products for sale, as well as their standards and specifications, are outlined in the schedules. The general restrictions for the sale of maize products, packing and marking requirements, and sampling techniques are also discussed in detail.

The statutory measure impels milk producers in South Africa to keep records and furnish returns with the milk producers’ organization. The registration will aid in liaising on legislation, training, and technology transfer. It aims to leverage data provided to produce trend analysis that assists the industry in efficiency optimization and program execution. The statutory measure applies to milk, and will be administered by the milk producers’ organization.

The statutory measure applies to whole maize and whole wheat produced locally or imported; it excludes maize and wheat seed for planting purposes, and maize and wheaten products imported and/or exported. It obligates role players of maize and wheat to keep records and report returns to South Africa Grain Information Services (SAGIS). It sees this as a means to ensure the availability of information to all players in the industry, to enable them to make informed decisions. The measure lists out the records and returns to be kept and submitted. SAGIS is appointed as an administrator of the statutory measure.

The notice, under the fertilizers, farm feeds, agricultural remedies, and stock remedies act of 1947, prohibits the acquisition, disposal, sale or use of an agricultural remedy containing endosulfan.

The notice amends the regulations in terms of the deeds registries act of 1937. The alterations relate to; the description of immovable property; the form of a deed of transfer; deeds of churches, corporations; acceptance by the registrar of deeds; and procedural requirements for the cancellation of a bond, among others

It is expressly stated that “no person shall export fresh fruits from the Republic of South Africa unless quantities have been approved by the executive officer for that purpose”. It details application for approval of export, inspection guidelines and procedure, assessment of competence of testing laboratories involved in inspection, necessary fees, approvals and rejections, as well as an appeal process. Fresh fruits are defined to mean deciduous fruits, citrus fruits, subtropical fruits and other unspecified fruits.

The regulations implement the provisions of the development facilitation act of 1995.

It is stated that; an environmental impact report shall be prepared by applicants. The contents mandated to be in the report include; details of the proposed activity, including purpose, requirements, and extent; applicant’s details; details of other people involved; if the activity is part of a greater scheme; date of submission; and plan and sections of the activity.

The regulations make provisions for a general prohibition on the recreational use of vehicles in the coastal zone; identify procedures for approving the use of vehicles in the coastal zone under specific circumstances; and stipulate measures for the enforcement of these regulations and prescribe penalties in respect of contraventions. Persons who use vehicles within the coastal zones must ensure usage does not cause harm to the environment; and in cases where harm is authorised or unavoidable, must be minimized.

The regulations contain guidelines for issuing and usage of ID cards by environmental management inspectors, as well as contents of ID cards.

The regulations are subject to the agricultural product standards of 1990. They specify classes and standards, parking and marking requirements guiding the sale of apples in South Africa. It specifically states that jams, jellies, and marmalades shall not be sold except standards outlined in these regulations are met. The regulations are baseline standards for the products sold in South Africa; the types, fruit content, and soluble solids content of jam, jelly, and marmalade is outlined in the regulations.

The notice represents an amendment to the promotion of the administrative justice act of 2000; it alters definitions and provides for the training of presiding officers in the magistrates’ courts for purposes of the act.

The regulations provide rules for the sale of wheat products. It spells out the restrictions and guidelines for the sale of wheat products in the country. It also outlines the different classes of wheat products and the standards for each of them.
