These Regulations shall apply to the labelling of all pre-packaged food (including water and ice) to be offered as such to consumers. Except as provided in these regulations, no person shall manufacture, import, export, distribute, advertise, display for sale or use any drug or drug product unless it is labelled per these regulations. This act establishes the Nigeria institute of Soil Science charged with responsibility of regulating the profession of soil science. The part 1 of this document provides for the establishment and functions of the Nigeria institute of Soil Science. It lists the functions of the institution, which are to: prescribe and regulate the standards of academic qualification and practical skills to be attained by persons seeking to become registered as members, associates or fellows of the institute, as the case may be; regulate the practice of the profession for soil scientists; establish, update and maintain a register of soil science practitioners under this act according to their various ranks and to regulate the prerogatives and privileges pertaining to those ranks; ensure that soil science practitioners in Nigeria uphold the ethics of the profession and guarantee the sustainability of high quality soil; advance the education, science, technology and art of soil science and crop production in collaboration with zonal coordinating research institutes; promote rapid sustainability of high quality soil through scientific methods, and regulate all issues pertaining to soil management in Nigeria; and cooperate or affiliate with any relevant association and soil science body either locally or internationally.

This is an act to provide for the establishment of the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency and related matters. The objectives of the Agency are to co-ordinate and implement the National Oil Spill Contingency Plan for Nigeria, establish a viable national operational organization that ensures a safe, timely, effective and appropriate response to major or disastrous oil pollution, identify high-risk areas as well as priority areas for protection and clean up, establish the mechanism to monitor and assist or where expedient direct the response, including the capability to mobilize the necessary resources to save lives, protect threatened environment, and clean up to the best practical extent of the impacted site etc.

The purpose of a National Forest Policy will be to encourage and support an aggressive establishment of plantations of economic trees of both exotic species, such as teak and indigenous species; and foster the redirection of development resources such that forest lands are not allocated to other uses unless it is in the superior interest of the nation, conscientious efforts are made to expand the forest estate through new acquisitions by public and private agencies, the provision of forestry goods and services is vigorously pursued for and on behalf of all Nigerians, and state boundaries do not in any way hinder the development of forestry projects, movement of forest produce and personnel as well as allocation of other resources.

This act amends the Niger Delta Development Commission (Establishment, etc.) Act, No 6, 2000 to increase the funding of the Commission for effective discharge of its duties.

The objective of this convention is to promote shared responsibility and cooperative efforts among parties in the international trade of certain hazardous chemicals in order to protect human health and the environment from potential harm and to contribute to their environmentally sound use, by facilitating information exchange about their characteristics, by providing for a national decision-making process on their import and export and by disseminating these decisions to Parties.

The Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP) is a strategic plan that highlights the government’s socio-economic and development objectives and priorities from 2011 to 2013.
