This document provides for the merchant shipping which comprises the foreign going ships, near coastal ships and need to have radio operators, doctors and cooks on foregoing ships.

This document provides regulations for the summoning of a marine board. It emphasizes that when any investigation has been ordered, the minister shall summon the board by summons as in form I in the schedule to these regulations and he shall, at the same time, cause notice of the siting as in form 2 in the schedule to these regulations to be served upon the attorney general and upon the owner, master and officers of the ship and upon any other person who in his opinion ought to be served.

These rules apply to Nigerian and other ships while they are within any port in Nigeria provided that these rules shall not apply to a ship because of it being within a port in Nigeria if the ship is in the port due to weather or stress or any other circumstances that the owner cannot prevent or forestall.

These rules apply to Nigerian and other ships of any other nationality while they are within any port in Nigeria for reasons unconnected with the stress of weather or any other circumstance that the owner can prevent and forestall. The critical role of the port in national economic and social development derives from its significance as the cheapest mode of moving large cargoes from one point to the other. The demand for port services by vessels is, however, a derived demand earned through conscious and deliberate policy choices made and driven to create the enabling environment for ship-owners. This document therefore, provides quick guidelines and general information about ports in Nigeria and become a useful guide to the ports’ stakeholders as well as to our potential investors.

This is a law to provide for the establishment of the Bayelsa State Development and Investment Corporation. It clearly states regulations for the establishment of the corporation, vesting of assets, objectives of the corporation, establishment and responsibility of the board, composition and tenure of the board, appointment of staff, and investment of funds of the corporation. The corporation’s objectives are to invest in such commercial, agricultural and or industrial activities or ventures that could be profitably undertaken, to drive, enhance and encourage economic and commercial activities in Bayelsa State, to start new activities after a careful assessment of risks and returns, such as petroleum refineries, petrochemical industries, toll roads, highways, water, sewage, waste management, hospital, real estate and such other activities that can be carried out profitably, to develop and or increase its human resources so it can gradually and correctly assert control and supervision of the core sectors in which it has substantial stakes, and to encourage and assist in the development and diversification of commerce and industry in Bayelsa State.

This law provides for the creation of the Cross River State Border Communities Development Commission as a body corporate. The document outlines some of the functions of the commission. The commission will: in conjunction with the relevant security agencies, take requisite steps to ensure the security of border communities; undertake the comprehensive development of border communities within the State; advise the Government on Border Communities development and other related issues; consult with the border communities and advice the State Government on areas which require urgent attention to maintain peace and develop border communities, execute such policies, projects, and programs in border communities; and co-ordinate the activities of all relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies in the implementation of Government policies and programs for the development of border communities.

This law is for the establishment of the Cross River State Rural Development Agency and other connected matters. The law specifies the functions and powers of the Agency to undertake the development and maintenance of rural infrastructure.

These regulations apply to all spirit drinks, manufactured, imported, exported, distributed, advertised, sold or used in Nigeria. They also apply to the use of ethyl alcohol and distillates of agricultural origin in the production of alcoholic beverages and the use of the names of spirit drinks in the presentation and labelling of foodstuffs.
